FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

  • See our access page here .

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR GUESTS?

  • I follow the government's COVID-19 hygiene guidelines. The rooms are cleaned then all surfaces are disinfected and the rooms are ventilated before your arrival.

  • Bed linens are washed at 60C and disinfected with Sanytol sanitising detergent.

  • Throughout the home, surfaces, doorknobs and switches are regularly sanitised. Outside, the sun loungers are disinfected between arrivals and departures of guests. The surfaces in the pool house are regularly disinfected.

  • To reduce the risk of cross contamination, daily room cleaning during your stay is by request only. If you would like your room to be serviced or if you need anything, please let me know at breakfast.

  • The pool is chlorinated and is safe to use, but I ask that only one couple at a time use the pool in order to maintain social distancing.

  • For everyones protection, a valid health pass proving you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 is required to stay at Le Mas Des Abeilles.

WHAT IS THE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIME?

  • Arrival is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and departure on the last day is before 11 a.m. Due to the time required for all additional cleaning procedures, it is not possible to arrive earlier or depart later.

DO I NEED A CAR?

  • This is not essential as we are close to a rural village, you can easily walk to the village in 15-20 minutes. There is a bus service to Montelimar and Dieulefit which stops at the end of the road, about 750 meters away, but it is not very frequent.

  • If you would like to discover more of the region during your stay, we recommend that you have a car.

  • If you are coming from Montélimar, you can take a taxi in 20 minutes from the train station.

DO YOU HAVE FREE OFF-ROAD PARKING?

  • Yes, we have free and secure off-road parking. Although it is a very safe and quiet rural area, the driveway and parking lot are monitored by a 24/7 CCTV system, with an alarm at night.

DO YOU HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO STORE OUR BIKES AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT?

  • Yes, we have a large stable where you can safely store your bikes and sports equipment. The stables are locked and equipped with an alarm at night and are protected by a video surveillance system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

DOES YOU ACCEPT PETS?

  • For the welfare of my own animals, I am unable to accommodate animals.

IS THE MAS SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES?

  • Unfortunately I do not have family rooms and the gardens are not suitable for children. Le Mas des Abeilles therefore only welcomes adults.

DO YOU PROVIDE EVENING MEALS?

  • No, sorry, I am unable to provide evening meals. There are restaurants and takeaways in the village, and at the house there is a fully equipped guest kitchen and a BBQ, so you are able to cook your own lunches and dinners if you prefer not to go out.

WHY IS THE HOUSE CALLED "LE MAS DES ABEILLES"? DO YOU KEEP BEES?

  • It already had that name when we bought it in 2004. As it used to be a fruit farm, I imagine they kept bees to pollinate the trees. No there are no bees here now but in the surrounding lavender fields and in the woods you will see a lot of bee hives during the summer months as they make a lot of honey in this area . Buy some local lavender honey, it's delicious.

IS YOUR MAS ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS OR WITH REDUCED MOBILITY?

  • Two of my rooms are on the 1st floor and are only accessible by stairs, but I have a ground floor room which is suitable for people with reduced mobility, but unfortunately not for wheelchairs.

IS THE POOL HEATED AND WHEN IS IT OPEN?

  • The pool is heated by the sun and in the main summer months, June to August, the water temperature is normally around 29C. In May and September it depends on the weather but 22C to 25C is the norm. I open the pool in April but its rarely warm enough to swim in until around mid-May. The pool usually remains warm enough to swim until around mid-September but it will remain open on nice days so guests can still enjoy sitting around it until the end of the season in October. It all really does depend on the weather. I cannot guarantee that the pool will always be available to use during your stay.

DO WE NEED TO BE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 AND WEAR A MASK?

  • Yes, for your own safety, as well as mine and that of my other guests, to stay at Mas Des Abeilles, you must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and have a valid health pass to prove it. The health passes are scanned on arrival. Wearing a mask is compulsory during registration. During your stay, I expect my guests to use common sense by distancing themselves socially and wearing a mask when they deem it necessary, for example when using the guests shared kitchen. The house, pool and gardens are large so it's easy to distance yourself and stay safe.  There is no exception to this rule . If you do not wish to protect yourself or others with vaccination, please do not book as entry will be refused without a valid health pass.
